I am your dutiful Tennis captain for the Darwin men’s tennis team for the year 2000/2001. This means that  I am the person who is going to organise all the games, practice sessions and the matches during this time.
The club has a great variety of players, ranging from high topspin loopers like myself to big baseline bashers. So, things do get pretty interesting during practices and sessions.

    Competitive Tennis

For those monsters who want to play competitively, league matches are organised during early May and lasts through to early June. In addition, there is the all important Cuppers where we go head-to-head against all colleges.
Last year, we did pretty brilliantly in Cuppers, reaching the quarterfinals, and if it weren’t for a few technicalities, we might have even gone further. So, this year, there will not be any excuses, we will certainly be looking towards bettering our results!

    Tennis Tournaments

I am a huge tennis fan and I like to watch live tennis matches. The pace of shots are just incredibly faster than watching it on the television. I have been to a few tournaments, gotten my autograph from Pete Sampras and went to Melbourne in 1998 for the Australian Open. So, if you are just like me and looking to take a vacation to watch Grand Slam tennis with someone, let me know. I have tried applying for tickets to Melbourne, Flushing Meadows and Roland Garros, although the trips do not necessarily work out always.

    Be On The Court!

Finally, let me just say that I’ll be looking forward to seeing everyone of you on the court and it will most definitely be a pleasure serving the club.
Thanks!
