Technical row over (See video)
The Darwin VIII was washed an oiled and ready of everything to come.
Everything? Well, we thought of two scenarios, whether we bump Girton or we overbump ARU. We knew and had shown recently that we gonna have the speed for both scenarios and it was depending on the speed of Wolfson what was actually going to happen.
Wolfson got bumped by Girton on first post corner and unfortunately failed to clear the river. Having already whistles on Girton and thus being very close to them when they bumped Wolfson, we crashed into the Wolfson VIII which did not row on properly after being bumped. Nicko felt into the water and his rigger broke. Result: Technical row over.
Tomorrow we gonna give Wolfson hell and make minced meat out of them. We will show Girton that you can bump Wolfson way before the first post corner making it easier for them to clear the river. From tomorrow 6:18pm Darwin M1 will be the highest Graduate VIII on the river. Back were we belong.

Bumped Wolfson I (See video)
The plan of today was to perform a über-quick-bump against Wolfson: First whistle after 11 strokes, second whistle after 26 strokes and finally bump after 44 strokes. We bumped them significantly faster than Girton did yesterday. Thus tomorrow we are looking forward to another great and quick row. From today on Darwin claims the position of the highest Graduate College Boat in both, men's and
women's divisions of the May Bumps!

Bumped by Selwyn II
We raced at 4pm today and got bumped by Selwin II. We help them off until the plough and then got bumped just after the corner.

Bumped by Pembroke III
A good performance from all of W2 today. Everyone was more relaxed and the rowing felt more controlled and together. We had a great start and got close to bumping Selwyn II but Pembroke get to us just before we had time to catch them. Tomorrow we will be even better.

We were off for a hell of a ride, knowing that Hughes would be all over Trinity Hall within no time we were all mentally prepared for the row over. Queens looked very focussed and motivated and closed us down right after the start. They put all they had into their start which worked out to our advantage. all the way up to the ploug they chased us at a length's away but they just couldn't come in reach. I guess the biggest praise had to go out to our cox Rob. He just nailed these corners and it seemed like an epic chase from a holly wood movie. Over the course Queens crawled up a good 3 times even so far that we thought they had us right after the railway bridge. But good old Darwin courage and gutsiness saved the day as we pushed them away every single time. Still they kept coming and we kept pushing away.
Queens worked really hard and one could see they were disappointed when we rowed over, but even more importantly, they seemed surprised. I genuinely feel that they expected an early bump.
It was a crazy, exhausting chase but we made it. We showed the river that Darwin M2 is a force not to be underestimated, as Douwe put it so nicely "you showed Character".
This is exactly what we are planning to do tomorrow. We will use the momentum created by Hughes attacking the crews they leave in their wake. With us chasing Trinity Hall and Hughes being certain to bump Jesus we are in for one exciting thursday
