Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning gala
From the 11th to the 13th June, our sponsor, the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (CfEL) is organising a week of events to promote entrepreneurship both locally and worldwide under the umbrella of Enterprising Cambridge (see the press release).
In collaboration with DCBC, CfEL is organising an informal networking event at Osier Holt, Fen Ditton, just outside Cambridge (see map and directions), on Friday 13 June, during the third day of May Bumps 2008.
Guests will be welcomed by Chester White, president of the Darwin College Boat Club, and will have the opportunity to meet up with some of the Cambridge enterprise community, while watching all the races, picnicing, enjoying strawberries, champagne and other drinks from the on site bar.

Welcome to Fire Starter!
Darwin College Boat Club is proud to welcome a new VIII with a great name: Fire Starter!
After more than 25 years on the River Cam, it was high time for the Lord Renfrew to retire and give way to a younger, lighter and faster boat. After several weeks of negociation, DCBC finally bought Fire Starter from our sister College in Oxford, Wolfson College.

A little ceremony took place on Saturday 24 November and the new boat was christened with champagne. Let's wish her a long life on the Cam, full of victories and blades!

The Club is grateful to all the DCBC members for their financial support and to the committee for their efforts, especially Sebastian Müller who used all his German diplomaty to negociate with Wolfson College.
