The Club Today
Darwin College Boat Club is one of the most active, enthusiastic and successful graduate boat clubs. Every year we have some fourty to fifty members ranging from complete beginners to university athletes. Last season four female members of the club were competing in university boats at Henley, more than from any other college. All-comers are welcomed to the club, male or female, and so the club represents a good cross-section of the college. Most of the training takes place on the River Cam guided by our enthusiastic coaches, who mostly are students or fellows as well. DCBC crews race throughout the year in various locally-organised events and whenever possible our senior crews strive to race at other venues. Recently for example a Darwin coxed four (equipment kindly provided by Cambridge City RC) won all three GBR challenge (Gloucester, Bristol and Ross-on-Wye) races in a row. Unfortunately DCBC is only able to compete in such events as members of a town rowing club as we currently lack the necessary equipment and transportation facilities. Together with a corporate sponsor we would be able to not only buy sufficient equipment to provide decent training facilities for all our members but our senior crews would also be able to compete in more races outside of Cambridge.
Darwin College Boat Club is looking for a corporate partner interested to enable us to sucessfully compete in- and outside of Cambridge
