Dr Mike Rands has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Science from his alma mater, the University of East Anglia, in recognition of his contribution to Environmental Science and international biodiversity conservation. 

Addressing the graduates after receiving his honorary degree, Mike said: “I am very proud to receive this degree from such a forward looking institution. Universities create ideas and innovation and, in UEA’s case, these are often targeted at sustaining our planet through research, teaching and engagement with society more widely. I am deeply  grateful to UEA for setting me on such a stimulating and enjoyable career path.”
