Saturday 12th May - Darwin College Society - Royston Caves 10.15am
The cave in the heart of Royston is described as an enigma. It is artificial with wall carvings, some apparently Christian, but it’s origin or use are not known. We will meet at the Royston cave entrance in the morning and a tour guide will take us around. The tour will take approximately one hour. Afterwards we will move to a cafe/restaurant on Royston Heath for lunch and we hope our guide will join us. Afterwards we will walk to a large patch of very rare and very beautiful wild flowers – the pasque flowers. This will be late in their flowering season but we hope that the inclement spring will have delayed their flowering. Numbers are restricted to18. The cost will be £7.00 per person (excluding lunch). Please use this form to book and pay.
