
The state of planetary health is in serious peril as the United States under the second Trump presidency pulls out of international climate and health commitments. This lecture will provide a diagnosis of today’s “polycrisis” as well as offer potential solutions – coming from the Global South, a perspective often neglected but which now cannot be ignored anymore.
Renzo R. Guinto, MD DrPH is Associate Professor of Global and Planetary Health at the SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute (SDGHI), Duke-NUS Medical School and a Senior Honorary Visiting Fellow at the University of Cambridge. This lecture is organised by the Public Health Education Group, Department of Public Health and Primary Care, in collaboration with Cambridge Public Health, the School of Clinical Medicine, and Darwin College.
