There are a number of shared rooms which are available for current Darwin members to book and use. Generally, if the booking is for a College or College-related academic purpose then there will not be a charge for use of the room.

PhD students are able to use College seminar rooms to give supervisions.

Since Darwin has so few rooms available to its members, bookings for private commercial use, University Departments or clubs and societies will be charged a room hire fee.

Rooms ‘5’ & ‘6’ in 1 Newnham Terrace, and the Hermitage Seminar room (next to the Parlour) are the best rooms for Supervisions. Rooms 5 & 6 both have wall-mounted A/V screens with HDMI or wireless connection.

Here is a handy guide to the rooms and facilities available to you as a Darwin member.

How to book rooms at Darwin

Go to the room booking homepage

Click on “Sign in with Microsoft” and log in using your @cam Microsoft account (Raven)

Check the availability for the resource that you would like to book on the calendar

Make a tentative booking by clicking on an available resource/timeslot that you would like to use. Please ensure that you provide a proper description of the booking with as much information in the ‘description’ field as possible including purpose and number of attendees. Failure to do so might lead to refusal of the booking. Once you save the booking it will be sent to the College offices for approval.

Bookings can be made up to 90 days in advance.
