Darwin Fellow Professor Emily Shuckburgh has been recognised with a CBE in the King’s Birthday Honours, announced today, for “services to Climate Science and to the Public Communication of Climate Science.”

Emily is Director of Cambridge Zero, the University of Cambridge’s major climate change initiative, and Professor of Environmental Data Science at the Department of Computer Science and Technology. Her primary research is focused on the application of AI to climate science, as well as considering the nexus between climate change, biodiversity loss and societal challenges. She previously worked for more than a decade at the British Antarctic Survey.

Emily is a Fellow of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, a Fellow of the British Antarctic Survey, a Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society, and an Honorary Fellow of the Energy Institute. She is also co-author with His Majesty King Charles III and Tony Juniper of the Ladybird Book on Climate Change.
