The summer issue of the Darwinian magazine has hit post-boxes and pigeonholes. From climate change to chocolate production, the forgotten achievements of 19th century female scientists to the impact of machinery on how humans think, this issue explores the vibrantly varied world of History and Philosophy of Science.

As a discipline, HPS has particularly close ties both to Darwin College and to the Darwin family. Thank you to everyone who agreed to be featured for being so generous with their time in talking to me, sharing their research, and reflecting on how HPS became their academic home.

Thank you also to Dr Mike Rands for discussing the highlights and challenges of his time as Master so openly. We are delighted to be able to take this opportunity to publicly celebrate Mike’s significant contributions to life at Darwin.

Read the summer issue of the Darwinian online now. If you don’t currently receive a print copy of the magazine, and would like to be added to our mailing list, please contact communications@darwin.cam.ac.uk.
