Darwin rugby fans have no excuse for missing out, with opportunities to cheer on our players against Oxford, both this weekend and next, in Cambridge and in London.
The Blues Varsity Matches will take place on Saturday 8th March at the StoneX Stadium, with the women’s game kicking off at 12pm and the men’s at 3pm. The men’s team sees last year’s Captain Ben Gompels (PhD in Orthopaedic Surgery) return to the field joined by Harry Jones, who is studying for a PhD in Biological Sciences.
Ben told us:
“Darwin has been a fantastic place to come as a postgraduate and has a great rugby heritage through the All Greys team. We’ve been so lucky to win the past two varsity matches against Oxf*rd; the support of the Colleges, clubs, and the wider community has been superb. Hopefully, with that extra support in the crowd, we can get the job done and make it three in a row…fingers crossed!”
Tickets are available from the Saracens website for as little as £15.
Two Darwin women will also represent Cambridge in the Jaguars, the women’s 3rd XV, who will take on Oxford’s Pumas at 12.30pm this Sunday, 2nd March. We’ll be cheering on Annie Huang, who is working towards her PhD in Oncology, and Elise Garçon, who is undertaking a Masters in Biological Sciences,
Tickets cost £4 and are available here.
