Congratulations to Darwin’s University Challenge team, who triumphed over the University of Edinburgh in their second-round match, screened on Monday 6th January!

Captain Harrison Whitaker (PhD in Film & Screen Studies); Rebecca McClelland (PhD in Connected Electronic & Photonic Systems); Sophie Willis (PhD in Pathology) and Rowan Stewart (MPhil in Theoretical and Applied Linguistics) finished the tightly fought round with a score of 155 to Edinburgh’s 125.

In his introduction to the teams, host Amol Rajan noted that “Harrison’s final total, with 11 correct starters, was the highest of any individual player in the first round.”

The team have now secured a place in the quarter-finals, with broadcast dates to be confirmed.
