Welcome to Kalyani Rhodes, who this week joins the Darwin staff as Head of Philanthropy.
Having grown up in India, Kalyani originally came to the UK as a student, gaining a BA in History and Political Science at Durham University, and an MSc in Social Policy from the LSE. She has nearly 30 years’ experience in strategic senior management, governance, and business development, and has worked across the health, housing and international development sectors, including over a decade at Oxfam. She has a deep commitment to tackling inequality and promoting diversity and inclusion.
For the past four years Kalyani has been working in global education, leading the development programme for an international school in India, where she particularly supported initiatives to embed environmental education into the curriculum. She has a longstanding interest in sustainable living, and is currently a Trustee at the Centre for Alternative Technology, based in Powys, Wales.
“I’m delighted to join Darwin and the Development team and look forward to supporting the College and the University community with all the energy I can muster!”
