Professor Nigel Peake has been admitted as the eighth Master of Darwin College.

We were delighted that Nigel’s wife, Sarah, and three of their five children were able to join him for the admission, which took place yesterday.

A mathematician by background, Nigel is a longstanding Fellow of Emmanuel College, Cambridge. He has served as Head of the School of the Physical Sciences at the University of Cambridge, as well as of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. He is a Professor of Applied Mathematics and a Fellow of the Institute of Mathematics & Its Applications.

Nigel was elected in March, and succeeds Dr Mike Rands, who has served as Master since 2020.
