We are proud to maintain continuing relationships with our alumni throughout their lives, by welcoming them back to College for reunions or casual visits, and through our publications and communications. Dining Privileges

Darwin alumni are welcome to eat in the College Dining Hall, and to bring up to two guests. All meals will be charged at guest rates. You will need to book in advance for Formal Hall, but booking is not required for lunch – just let the kitchen staff know that you are an alumnus/a. Reunion Dinners

Reunion dinners for specific year groups are organised annually and usually take place in early May, providing a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with your contemporaries.

Darwin College Society Events

The Darwin College Society (DCS) holds a dinner every term and a garden party in the summer. Both events are open to all alumni and up to two guests. The dinners are held during normal Formal Hall, giving you a genuine sense of Darwin as it is today. The DCS also organises ‘Local Heritage’ events approximately once a month. The Darwinian

The Darwinian magazine is mailed to all alumni twice a year, providing an engaging update on the College and its members. It is available in both print and digital format. If you have not received a recent copy,  we may not have your current contact details. To update your details please complete the Alumni Update Form.

The Alumni E-Bulletin

The Alumni E-Bulletin is a termly update of news, events and photos, keeping the alumni community connected with College life.

Accommodation

Alumni can book guest rooms from £80 per night. The cost of double en-suite rooms ranges from £80 to £95 (inc. VAT) per night. Guest rooms cannot normally be booked for more than three consecutive nights, or up to five nights with special permission.  To book a room contact the Accommodation Manager giving as much notice as possible.

Darwin Lecture Series

The Darwin College Lecture Series was launched in the 1980s, and is an established feature of the Cambridge calendar. Over one eight-week term, weekly lectures by experts in their field examine a given topic from eight different perspectives. Lectures are held on Friday evenings from late January to the middle of March, and are open to all. Details can be found here.

Functions

Alumni are very welcome to hire College function rooms for meetings or events.  Anyone wishing to reserve the Old Library or Seminar rooms in College should contact the Bursary.  Prices are available on application.

Punting

Alumni are welcome to join the Punt Club, at a rate of £30 per season. Punts can also be hired on a per-outing basis for £15 .

To pre-book a punt please email the Alumni Office and we will be pleased to help. On the day bookings should be made at the Porters’ Lodge.  Further details are available here.
